“1. What were your expectations of this trip and did you meet them?

Certainly, I have expected to learn some Chinese, get around how work is done in China, and it is a great experience with some wonderful people from across the world. So it is completely meet my expectations.

2. What did you take out of the CBL course for your career?

How to speak to people from different cultures; how to respect everyone; how to network with lots of people. So practically that’s it.

3. Do you meet a lot of people and what kind of people?

We met a lot of people through the course and even at the guest house we are living at. Actually I were just speaking to someone from New Zealand, not from CBL but some from another university doing a course at Tongji University. So it’s just an experience of how great it is to meet so different kind of people, different cultures when you go to different places. I have learnt the address in Chinese, learnt so many different things. Again, through people. That’s the best point of any travelling, best part of summer school.

4. 3 tips: Get a VPN; Learn some basic Chinese before you come here; Be social, it really helps.”

“1. What were your expectations of this trip and did you meet them?

Well, in general, it’s like getting to know China, to know how the interaction is between the Chinese people and foreigners. I think I met them.

2. Do you meet a lot of people and what kind of people?

So the most important thing like I already said was the professors, they were really amazing, sometimes you could not really understand them so that was a big thing, but in the end the PPT did help. And Q&A helped us as well. It was really interesting thing that you really see business student and law students interact with each other. For me, I think it will help my career to see how we can interact with each other and you meet just amazing people, that will help you with everything, I guess what CBL attracts.

3. What did you take out of the CBL course for your career?

Like I said the network really be great here so the CBL does bring you with the right connections. If you really have a business plan that’s real for China, you might find the people you need to find. Everything is amazing. I really like it, that’s all I can say.

3 tips: Get a VPN; Be open for the food, be very careful of what you eat; Don’t get ripped off by taxi.”

They come together in state-of-the-art facilities and listen to experts talk about various aspects of business, public policy and law in China. “CBL International school is a unique programme for students that has been offered in this emerging market for several years now. Due to the good cooperation with CBL International, many students have successfully participated in the school. As study programmes are shortened more and more, longer stays abroad become difficult. CBL International schools offer the possibility tolearn and discover a lot in a short period of time, for examples during semester breaks.”

“UC Berkeley’s summer abroad program “Doing business in China”, together with CBL,
has been one of the most amazing trips I have ever been on. Before I got here, I didn’t quite know what to expect – except that there would be lots of travelling: starting in Hong Kong, we took the ferry to Shenzhen, the plane to Shanghai and then the high speed train to the capital, Beijing, where the program ended. Not to mention various daytrips on the bus, including Suzhou and the Great Wall! It turned out that three weeks of firm visits, cultural experience and exploring China couldn’t be more fun! The trip provided a perfect balance of extensive studying and having fun at the same time. I am positive that if asked, anyone on the group would agree that after these three weeks, you really have a much better understanding of China and especially of how to do business in China. Owing to the great people I got to meet and the perfect organization of the trip, this has been a once-in-a-lifetime experience and I recommend everyone who gets the chance: do it!”

“The three-week Doing Business in China travel-study program was an exciting, fascinating, and eye-opening experience — the best decision I made all school year. It was a tremendous privilege to explore five dynamic cities in China through academic, professional, and cultural lenses. This program helped me realize the extent of the global economy and the scope of international relations and how much I want to be a part of it. The tight-knit group we developed filled our days with endless laughter, cross-cultural insights, and the joy of sharing discoveries and wonderful memories.”

“CBL International China Business School was a great experience for me. The program offers a nice balance between sightseeing/partying and learning about how business is conducted in mainland China. Lecturers from prestigious universities in Europe and the US gave world class courses. I can definitely recommend it.”
